It seems the US is in the acceptance mode of Blockchain technology. Though in the past during Facebook’s project Libra, many US regulators showed their concern and are not happy with crypto they do showing warmth to Blockchain technology. Recently, the United States Department of Defense (DoD) will start pursuing blockchain solutions for cybersecurity as a part of its digital transformation approach. In the early of this month, The Department of Defense came up with the whole Blockchain tech scenario in its four-year outline entitled it as a “DoD- the Digital Modernization Strategy: DoD Information Resource Management Strategic Plan FY19–23.”
As per the reports or data disclosed by sources, the DoD’s research branch, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), is presently occupied in at least two exploratory blockchain projects which are entirely focused on cybersecurity.
Firstly, DARPA is coming up with it’s a new or improved communication and transaction platform with blockchain. The intentions for this platform consists of communications between units and headquarters along with intelligence offers and the pentagon. And, secondly, DARPA is also trying and giving its energy to build an unhackable code with the help of blockchain technology stating the ability of blockchain to accumulate intel on bad actors who try to hack into databases.
A little information about DARPA’s blockchain workshop:
As per the reports of the sources, DARPA has made plans to host a two-day blockchain workshop in February. It is showing a huge interest in evaluating permissionless consenus protocols. It was also noted that there were valuable use cases for blockchain in data storage stating that Technologies for consenus protocols have been transformed by their main role in cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies. These technologies could be implications for the security and flexibility of critical data storage and computation attacks that include the Department of Defense. DoD officials last year in December evaluated how blockchain technology could help responses in situations that are worst in a presentation which was hosted by the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Continuous Process Improvement. It will be an exciting element to see how US regulators are going to react over this.
Even, in the latest survey done by Binance, it was witnessed that around 68% of the US citizens have heard of Bitcoin and the graph has been increased from 77% in 2017 to 89% in 2019. People are keen to know more about Bitcoin and crypto Industry. The other exchange, Coinbase CEO said that he wants to see this platform more than trading in the coming five years. It seems the crypto industry has started to come up with new experiments.
